The Bern Book: A Record of a Voyage of the Mind,
Published in Hardcover by John Day Co (April, 1973)
Author: Vincent O. Carter
Average review score:

Vincent, I miss you!
You moved from Kansas to Berne, Switzerland many dekades ago. I moved from Berne, Switzerland, to the US because of my marriage with an Estonia born American. I always loved to be with you, Vincent, but it took me such a long time to upgrade my poor School English until I was able to read your wonderful Berne Book! I finally did it and my mind went back to my beloved old Berne guided by your funny, sad and thoughtful memories!
You passed way too early for all of us who knew and loved you, "the first black man Berne ever saw". Now I am joining your spiritual way , we actually all do. Love you, Vince, be blessed!
And we look forward to your new book that will be published 30 years after you wrote it...

Beyond the Gates of Dream
Published in Paperback by Wildside Press (December, 1999)
Author: Lin Carter
Average review score:

A must have!
I would like to recommend "Beyond the Gates of Dream" to anyone who like me prefers epic adventure and non-stop action than rather schizoid modern fantasy writings. Although relatively short (157 pages) the book has rich plot and original characters. The obstacles the characters face are difficult to overcome and many times are intangible things, which must be thought around rather than simply, blown up. The end is a little bit abrupt for my taste but in overall the book is a must have for every real Carters' fan.

Big Book of Logos 3

Author: David E. Carter

Time to design a new logo
Just got my copy of Big Book of Logos 3 and I'm putting it to use already. I was just asked to design a logo and find this book a useful mind dump of 2,500 logos to get my brain cells working. My David Carter book collection has grown over the years and I find them a good place to start whenever I'm kicking off a new design project.

Big Picture People: Overcoming a Knothole View of Life
Published in Paperback by Beacon Hill Press (May, 2000)
Author: Doug Carter
Average review score:

High Impact!
"Big Picture People" will stretch you! The personal examples, anecdotes and thought-provoking quotes and bullet points will stop you cold in your tracks and make you think--and then act. The chapter on "Commitment" alone, is worth the price of the book. I read it in 3 hours and have pages of notes to begin to apply Doug's thoughts and strategies. Thank you Doug for adding value to every Christian's life who is willing to invest a few of hours reading your valuable book and applying the thoughts therein.

Bitter Creek
Published in Audio Cassette by Americana Pub Inc (October, 2000)
Authors: Carter Swart and Alan Zimmerman
Average review score:

A compelling novel of escalating tension and blood feud
Set in the American Dakota territory during the 1886 drought, Carter Swart's Bitter Creek is a compelling novel of escalating tension and blood feud between stockmen and homesteaders, as cattle die and control of the river becomes central to a brutal dispute involving at first fists, then guns. Only one man has the skill in negotiation to prevent all-out war, but he himself has given up the gun! A dramatic and exciting epic of the Old West, Bitter Creek is deftly narrated by Alan Zimmerman and highly recommended, thoroughly entertainting listening. 4 cassettes, 360 minutes.

Boystown: LA Zona De Tolerancia
Published in Hardcover by Aperture (December, 2000)
Authors: Cristina Pacheco, Dave Hickey, Keith Carter, William D. Wittliff, Aperture Foundation, Wittliff Gallery of Southwestern, Mexican Photography, and Christina Pacheco
Average review score:

what a book
This book will knock your socks straight off. These photographs were taken by, apparently, amateur photographers, but they are simply magical. Although these photographs were [taken] in Mexican brothels, they speak volumes about the American Southwest. A must have for collectors of the great photography books of our time. Part of the permanent OilCan collection.

Building a Business, Creating a Life: A Design for Finding Personal Fulfillment and Professional Success
Published in Paperback by Spirit Press (May, 1999)
Author: Penny Carter
Average review score:

Great Business and Personal Success Book
I'm always on the lookout for new business/self-help books to recommend to my clients. They must provide quality information, be easy to read and follow, and inspire and motivate change. This one fits the bill perfectly. Great exercises throughout make it experiential as well as informative. You get that she knows what she's talking about and has been there herself. I also loved her upbeat approach and humor. It's like having a good friend holding your hand. I liked it and will continue to recommend it.
